Impact of the Acceleration of Technology in the Field of International Studies

Research Paper Instructions:

Analyze and discuss an impact of the acceleration of technology on your field of study.
***my major is INTERNATIONAL STUDIES, the topic I chose is how technology(AI voice, video, etc) advance or help fraud.
Research how an aspect in your field of study has been impacted by technology. For example, a sociology or psychology major can look at how social media influences relationships, a computer scientist could research concerns of privacy or net neutrality, and a history major may present an overview of how research has changed. A business or economics major might want to investigate how a new marketing technique or digital solution made possible by new technology has affected careers in their major. Science or mathematics majors could examine how one kind of research in their field or how the collection of data has been impacted by technology. A major in international studies might look at the impact of technology on global cooperation or competition and an education major could look at one way technology has affected the learning environment. Engineering or journalism majors can investigate an aspect of these careers that has been impacted by technology. Film or music majors could examine how technology has impacted the ways that films or music are produced and marketed.
Your research may result in an argumentative essay depending on your topic, but it does not have to. The idea is to dive deeply into a particular aspect of your field of study that has been affected by the accelerated technology of the last decade and to document and analyze this impact. During the process of your research, you may find yourself taking up a position on your topic that you wish to argue, or you may prefer to maintain an informative approach, highlighting the significance and implications of your topic.
This essay will require you to conduct research and acknowledge sources using the MLA research format. It will also require you to submit a paper proposal (in the form of a discussion), a first draft, and a final draft and to participate in peer review.
You are writing for an educated audience and must maintain your credibility throughout the paper. Use evidence from the class readings and credible outside research to support the assertions you make. You may also use personal examples or observations to support your claims. You must use a minimum of 5 sources by the final draft. No more than two sources can be from class readings.
The final draft will include a works cited page and will be submitted to turnitin.com via canvas.
Length: 6-8 pages (1,500 words minimum) + Works Cited page (the minimum word count excludes the essay heading, header, title, and Works Cited Page)
You will need to provide context for the topic you have chosen, including background information for both your field of study and the type of technology that has impacted it. You may include class readings among your sources. You will need to develop a central idea that is supportable with your research. It does not have to be an argument or arguable thesis, but it should highlight an issue which would not be common knowledge to your readers (your classmates).
Your essay should include the following general structure:
Introduction: Briefly define or describe the issue that you are investigating and explain 1) how it relates to your field of study, 2) what makes it important and 3) what makes it controversial or worth researching. This is the section where you contextualize your topic.
Thesis: At the end of your Introduction, assert your position regarding the issue you have chosen to focus on and provide a rationale or reasoning for this position (this only applies in an argumentative essay). Note: A well-written thesis should be complex and is usually articulated in more than one sentence.
Body:
Option a. If you are writing an informational essay, provide credible sources that support your information. These sources should encompass the opposing views on the issue you have chosen.
Option b. If you are writing an argumentative essay, provide credible evidence that supports your position and refutes opposing arguments. Use appeals (logos, pathos and ethos) to strengthen your argument. Make sure to also acknowledge or anticipate and respond to the opposing argument/s.
Conclusion: Bring your paper to a satisfactory end by recapping the information you have presented (for an informational essay) or by reasserting your position using different wording (for an argumentative essay) and (for both essays) emphasizing the relevance of your information or position to your field of study as well as to your audience (the big picture). Finally, think about what you want to leave your reader thinking about or to take away from your essay?

Historical Context
Fraud is a malicious act in which a person deceives another person or entity for financial gain. Information is intentionally misrepresented to misguide a person into falling into a trap that leads them to make losses. Frauds can be dated back to the 300BC when two Greek merchants, Hegestratos and Zenosthemis planned to get rich through an insurance policy on their ship and cargo. The two did not intend to pay the loaned money as per the agreement which would have led to their ship and cargo being repossessed, so they resolved to sink it but were unfortunate as one died and the other taken to court.
Fraud has evolved since then with fraud cases increasing each year, also, with emerging technology which has given rise to modern frauds. Digital fraud can be dated back to the 1980s when the internet became more recognized. At the time scammers would con people to make calls to
