PepsiCo is a major player in the beverages industry, and a look into the revenue streams of the company showed that it was almost flat, and hence there is a need to improve the company’s operations. Similarly, the net income has not increased substantially, and reduction in operating expenses that resulted to a bigger increase in net income. This was reflected in both the gross profit margin and net profit margin, which improved marginally. The gross profit margin was 52.22% in 2012, while in 2013 it was 52.96%, the profitability ratios measure the rate at which the company is able to generate earnings, and increase in the profitability ratios shows that PepsiCo is doing better albeit marginally.
Liquidity ratios like current ratio and quick asset rate show the rate at which the company can meet short-term obligations. Both the current and quick ratios increased from 2012 to 2013, and the ratios show changes in current assets and current liabilities. Since, the company had better current ratios, the company is able to meet short term obligations better.
