You will use the textbook, Internet, and provide an example from a news media outlet – a minimum of three sources. You will cite the sources used. Don’t just tell me a story. Critical thinking allows you to research the topic and apply some pros and cons. For example, the death penalty is a topic that many people have passionate opinions on. A student may write a paper arguing for either side.
How do I get an "A" 90% on my paper? Easy...if you do these five things you will get a 90%. If you do more, for example, two extra pages then you will get more points and possibly a 100%. If you do less, one page and no references and you write about a non-criminal justice topic such as, "basket weaving", then you lose points...Easy...
1. Turn it in on time
2. Two pages minimum
3. Three references on a work cited page
4. A criminal justice topic of interest
5. Take a side, pro or con
The Rubric attached gives you an example of the points...disregard the 180/200 points as I have adjusted to 90/100 points.
Note: Write in the third person; do not use the pronouns you and I. This paper is not to be written as a personal essay.

Most individuals who are subjected to the death penalty are hardened criminals who have proved they cannot correct their habits. This makes the justice system a little skewed when they have to listen to the criminals more than the victims. It is for the state to continue applying the penalty, after weighing on the benefits of its actions compared to avoiding it.
On the flip side, there are cons to the death penalty. First, the rights to life are violated by terminatin lives before time. Naturally, people would be left to die of natural causes or by accident, but not by the state subjecting them to death through the death penalty. Human rights have a stand against the death penalty and have, for a long time, campaigned against its execution. Some argue that the death penalty is a form of revenge by the states to teach hard lessons to crimina...
