The study utilized a non-probability voluntary sampling where forty-five and thirty-six nurses and doctors, respectively, voluntarily participated in the study.

A survey-questionnaire entitled Data Collection Form of Surgical Smoke and Risks were answered by the participants. It has been noted that only the nurses were able to participate fully while only thirty-six percent of the doctors were able to complete the survey. It was not stated on how the researchers were able to verify the information. Thus, the research may have overseen the accuracy of the information gathered. However, the results also revealed that the participants, especially the nurses did not take effective precautionary measures. These results are significant for the study.
