Background
The element of reading has been for the longest time been established through research that it improves the language abilities of a person (Dickinson, Griffith, Golinkoff, & Hirsh-Pasek, 2012). It is recommended that that one keeps reading books at all stages of their life to make sure their brain is always growing and enhancing the various connections between the different bites of information that one interacts with. It is common for children to be introduced to reading material in their early ages. This article brings out the basic advantages that are associated with children being introduced to learning material at a young age. This is with some expected aspect of better language development among the children and more importantly their ability to interact with educational material later on in their lives (Raising Children Network, 2017). This is an important piece of research, as it establishes the baseline for parents and teachers along with the education system and culture in the society (Dickinson, Griffith, Golinkoff, & Hirsh-Pasek, 2012). With regard to the benefits associated with reading at a young age, the social culture can actually be revolutionized through embracing a reading culture (Woolfolk, Winne & Perry, 2015). The ecological understanding of the material in the paper is associated with the education system and the impact a reading culture would have on the population (Dickinson, Griffith, Golinkoff, & Hirsh-Pasek, 2012).
Summary
The paper brings out the connection that exists between language development and reading. Children that are introduced to reading early in their lives tend to have a better chance of developing their language skills and even master academic challenges associated with comprehension (Dickinson, Griffith, Golinkoff, & Hirsh-Pasek, 2012). As the child grows up, their language development is closely associated with the rest of the developmental domains. It is through the development of the ability to communicate that children are able to regulate their own feelings, actions, abilities and thoughts (Dickinson, Griffith, Golinkoff, & Hirsh-Pasek, 2012). The environment the child is brought up in also determines the speed with which they master the element of language development. Children that are born to poor families tend to struggle in their language development (Woolfolk, Winne & Perry, 2015).
