Mr. C., a 32-year-old single male, is seeking information at the outpatient center regarding possible bariatric surgery for his obesity. He currently works at a catalog telephone center. He reports that he has always been heavy, even as a small child, gaining approximately 100 pounds in the last 2-3 years. Previous medical evaluations have not indicated any metabolic diseases, but he says he has sleep apnea and high blood pressure, which he tries to control by restricting dietary sodium. Mr. C. reports increasing shortness of breath with activity, swollen ankles, and pruritus over the last 6 months.

Mr. C is suffering from high blood pressure. Some of the health risks that are linked to obesity include blood sugar, low-density lipoprotein, cholesterol, and inflammation (Flegal, Kruszon-Moran, Carroll, Fryar, & Ogden, 2016). There is a possibility that Mr. C will undergo cardiovascular issues or coronary heart disease. Bariatric Surgery                    It is a better option for Mr. C to have Bariatric surgery. It is one of the best solutions to lose excessive weight. Many people are able to spend a normal life after having bariatric surgery. According to a few studies, the surgery has involuntary adversative effects on the patient’s mental health (Spittal & Frühbeck, 2018). Generally, bariatric surgery provides more positive results than negative outcomes. Functional Health Pattern of Mr. C Health Management Mr. C can control his high blood pressure by taking low sodium in the diet. He does not information regarding the use of CPAP and he has an issue of sleep apnea.
