In the United States, federal and state laws protect many individuals in the workplace from discrimination. However, not all identities are protected under the law. In addition, corporations oftentimes have a particular culture and/or brand that they are selling, and not all social identities are able to portray this image in the same way.
In this discussion, you will consider whether accommodations should be made in the workplace for a variety of social identities by considering the case study of a popular clothing company, Abercrombie & Fitch. In recent years, Abercrombie & Fitch has been in the news due to multiple lawsuits filed by employees over discrimination in the workplace.

Introduction.
In an ideal world setting, discrimination should never be an issue. Unfortunately, we live in a world that is full of imperfections and many vices. People hear all the time about issues concerning discrimination, be it of race, gender, and even religion. Yet in most cases, nothing is done about it. In this paper, Abercrombie & Fitch international clothing company, an international cloth retailer whose headquarters are based in the USA, is the main subject of discussion and why discrimination needs to be terminated completely from our society, especially, in places where people go to work. There is an urgent need to embrace and accommodate different social identities in workplaces as long as these socially different people do not harm others.
In recent years, Abercrombie & Fitch has been in the news due to multiple lawsuits filed by employees over discrimination in the workplace. This paper, however, focuses on two of these lawsuit cases from two women namely: Riam Dean and Samantha Elauf. Riam Dean sued this company which was her former employee for discriminating against her, claiming that her manager in the company’s London store displaced her from the company’s main floor because she had a prosthetic arm (Pidd, 2009). Samantha Elauf on the same note sued the company for discriminating against her for religious reasons. This discrimination was stated to arise from the fact that they denied her a sales job at their clothing kids store in Tulsa, Oklahoma because she wore a headscarf for religious reasons (Hurley, 2015).
In sales and marketing, proper presentation is key to attracting consumers to purchase the goods or services that one is providing. With this in mind, most sales and marketing firms tend to hire individuals who are presentable to customers, representing the company accordingly.
