Purpose
The Purpose of the zero-tolerance to recreational use of cannabis during working hours is to provide a safe working environment for all the employees and customers of King Charles Hotel. King Charles Hotel is committed to providing quality services to its customers by ensuring the maintenance of safety standards by its employees. The Hotel believes that maintaining the safety of its consumers starts with providing a safe working environment for its employees.
Scope
This policy applies to all employees of the Hotel working in different shifts including the management who have no medical conditions requiring the use of cannabis to effectively perform their functions at work. Cannabis impairs cognitive functioning in the short term and there is no standard it takes to leave the system (Shrivastava, Johnston & Tsuang, 2011), thus its’ consumption will only be allowed after verification that it is administered on medical grounds and that its use cannot adversely affect the productivity and performance of the employee.

The delivery of quality services is the cornerstone of King Charles Hotel’s success and safety of its products and services forms an integral part of its foundation.
