One situation in which I broke a social norm is when I went swimming at the beach with my regular clothes. I decided to jump into the sea wearing trousers and a sweater. Some of the people in the pool and within the vicinity looked at me utterly shocked. Others moved further away from me. Others just laughed. The people that moved away and looked at me weirdly probably thought I was not in my right mind. Their view may have been a reasonable person should wear a bathing suit when swimming. Those that laughed might have considered my behavior as funny and taken the act as a way of enjoying myself. I found the reactions interesting considering that I wanted to experience something different. However, the stares and people moving away offended me.
