Despite various constraints within rural areas, the Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) participation opportunities exist for rural practitioners to offer care and share cost savings via the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Connecting rural providers to the extensive health systems generate economies of scale and eliminate barriers around volume-associated barriers under quality metrics. Rural ACOs’ participation can be attained via networks. In addition, networks also facilitate the capacity of rural providers to engage in demonstration programs by incorporating the support of consolidated entities to assist in controlling grand management and report burdens (Hoagland et al., 2018). A more extensive network would bring more organizations under the same umbrella and electronic health record (EHR) system enabling the particular entities to share information and reduce costs under the current ACA-driven healthcare system.
