The are many reasons the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) is significantly essential. First, the legislation is attributed to have facilitated the capacity of over twenty million persons to access medical insurance in the states. As the PPACA took effect in 2013, only 16.6% of the populace under 65 years was uninsured (The American Public Health Association, 2017). In quarter one of 2016, only 10% of the populace under 65 years was uninsured (The American Public Health Association, 2017). This number continues to get smaller every year. The PPACA has also reduced healthcare costs in the United States (US). For instance, it was noted that legislation accounted for more than $28.2 billion in medical care costs savings from 2011 to 2015 (The American Public Health Association, 2017). The rising healthcare costs account for the national deficit and lower citizens' capacity to use money in other facets, including housing, educational attainment, and commercial endeavors.
