Early American Wars
The French and the Indian war was a conflict that pitted New France against colonies of British America. During the war that lasted from 1754 to 1763, the two warring sides had support from American Indian allies and military Units from home countries (Moogk, 2016). Since the French were outnumbered by the British, they depended on American Indian’s support. The war erupted after conflicts over who had control of the confluence of the Monongahela River and the Allegheny River. The primary outcome of the war was the defeat of French troops and the signing of the peace treaty.
The war ended with the defeat of French troops on Abraham plains (Lydon, 2018). After the failure of the French forces, the warring factions were willing to make peace and redeem the status quo through the signing of the Treaty of Paris, which involved France, Spain and, Paris and Britain.
