Explain the various lines of communications present within any given local law enforcement agency. Next, determine at least two (2) challenges and concerns that law enforcement might encounter with communication and suggest your strategy to mitigate the challenges. Support your response.
Examine the importance of police patrol in modern policing.
Identify at least two (2) quality of life issues (e.g., panhandlers, prostitution, problems associated with bars and clubs, police interaction with individuals who are mentally ill, homeless people and civil disobedience) that permeate modern law enforcement practices. Propose a response to these issues, based on common practices as outlined in the text, and provide your rationale.
Compare and contrast police reactions as they relate to violence in schools, homes, and workplaces. Provide one (1) example of each to support your response.

The police or law enforcement officers have been granted powers and responsibilities by the Constitution to perform this role of ensuring citizens safety. Nevertheless, police deal with a range of issues in undertaking their mandate which demands that they approach the issues in a multifaceted and all rounded manner. Enforcement officers ought to possess goods skills in areas such as interrogation, investigation and conducting interviews so as to perform their tasks effectively. While there have been numerous changes aimed at improving service delivery of the police, there are still challenges that police officers experience with effective communication.
Standard community involvement is one of the changes that have been implemented in policing. Standard community involvement is a partnership between community members and the police officers to help the officers in identifying security problems as well as devising ways of solving those problems (Chechak & Csiernik, 2014). Standard community involvement is based on the principle that the community members are active partners in bringing law and order to their communities and thus police officers should not lock them out in efforts of maintaining safety in the society (Chechak & Csiernik, 2014).
The involvement of the community members in maintaining law and order in the society has enhanced cooperation between persons and the police in providing information about lawbreakers as well as reporting security threats within the society. The role of police has been simplified, and they are now involved in guiding the community members towards a safer society (Chechak & Csiernik, 2014).. Standard community involvement is based on values of integrity, responsibility, and leadership which have promoted trust between the police officers and the community.
Another change in the policing operations is technology. Technologies such as the use of social media and sophisticated cameras have been integrated into police operations to help them carry out their operations (Chechak & Csiernik, 2014). Through technology, the public can easily interact with the police and report cases. Social media platforms offer a wide and fast network that facilitates police communication. Social media such as Twitter enable the police to share vital information with the public that can lead to improvement of their safety or direct towards reporting and tracking of criminals. Police use technology in investigating crimes by tracking online network connections of the criminals and warning the society members (Chechak & Csiernik, 2014). Through the use of cameras, police can keep track of people in areas where crime is likely to take place. Cameras help in recording information for tracking criminals. For example, CCTV cameras help in police investigations and lead to the arrest of criminals.
