Introduction
The legalization of cannabis took place despite the hundreds of opposition from the people, and this change occurred due to the reform of national and international policies. However, in the medical field, the legalization of cannabis took the chance for health researchers to develop studies that support the positive effects of cannabis on human health. From the study of Spindle et al. (2020), it was stated that the chemical emitted from the Cannabis called Cannabidiol (CBD) had vast beneficial benefits. Medical products made from this chemical were called hemp-derived CBD products and cannabis-derived CBD (Epidiolex) products, which entails their various use in the medical field. They also disclosed that the hemp-derived CBD products should only contain no more than 0.3% ∆9-THC while Epidiolex should only use less than what hemp-derived CBD products use more than 0.1% of ∆9-THC for it to be legally used.
Even then, for the proper usage of these medical products, it was stated that products that obtain such chemicals should be first supported and approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Since CBD products have both positive and negative effects, this policy of requesting approval is the way for the FDA to control such sensitive products. To elaborate, CBD products, specifically Epidiolex have been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to be used as a form of treatment for rare and severe cases of epilepsies (Urasaki et al., 2020). Supported by Spindle et al. (2020), they also claimed the use of hemp-derived CBD products that perform therapeutic claims to the overall health care of a person. Due to the growing effects of CBD products, it is widely distributed from areas that are both authorized to sell and are not.
With the various medical benefits that CBD products hold, widespread research has been conducted to deeply explore more about Cannabis and its benefits for human health. Correlated to the various research conducted, this study aims to identify and assess the effective use of the chemical Cannabidiol from the plant, Cannabis. It will provide a careful evaluation of evidence about the usage of CBD products and their health effects. To be specific, this research ought to develop a concrete foundation for the use of CBD products as a treatment for certain mental health disorders. From this, people would be able to identify a more concrete understanding of the plant Cannabis and its chemical usage in the medical field. Future researchers will be provided with a more detailed background to help their newly developed research flourish.
Health Effects
Spindle et al. (2020) studied the connection of CBD products to urine drug-testing outcomes and evaluated its results. Through orally transmitting or inhaling a 100-mg dose of CBD, it was disclosed that none of the participating respondents resulted in a positive drug test using the Mandatory Guidelines for drug tests which were the screening and confirmatory cutoffs. Instead, two out of the six participants were able to test out as positive after the procedure of inhaling the 100-mg dose of CBD and the  3.7-mg ∆9-THC. On the other hand, when CB...
