I have learned that a thesis is a concise statement that encourages the writer or the student to argue regarding the main issue of the paper. From a reader’s point of view, the thesis aims to provide the insight into the main idea and purpose of the paper. It should be written in the simple and understandable language and needs to contain a claim that has to be proved throughout the essay (Mabbett, 2016).
There is a lot of difference between a thesis statement and a question. The thesis statement draws the reader’s attention to a particular issue and encourages him to read the entire essay. In contrast, a question, an announcement or a fact may or may not be able to provoke the reader to read the entire essay to understand its actual meanings and its purpose. A thesis statement is stronger and better than any announcement or the question (Mabbett, 2016).
