The film released in 2001, is based on the autobiography of Nobel Laureate and mathematician, John Forbes Nash, written by Sylvia Nasar. In the film, Russell Crowe stars as John Nash, the mathematician who is afflicted by schizophrenia. Other major casts include: Ed Harris, who plays the Mysterious supervisor, Paul Bettany who is a roommate to Crowe and a literature student, etc. The movie is perhaps unique in that it tries to highlight the emotional aspect of suffering from schizophrenia. It is impossible not to understand just how much frustrating having to deal with societal perceptions must have been to Nash, not to mention the crumbling to bits of his life as depicted by Crowe in the film.
