Buddhism and Islam Religions
The article represents an era dominated by the anti-religion war between Buddhism and Islam. The religious groups are fighting for the supremacy of their beliefs in Sri Lanka. Buddhists believe that Muslims are violent and will always cause trouble in the Island. A Buddhist abbot reveals that Islam has already taken over some of the essential regions that hosted an enormous population of believers. The countries include; Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir, and Indonesia (Beech, 2019). According to the Monk, the Buddhist religious practices held significance in the nations before the introduction of Islam. Instead of Buddhism and Islam religions working together to bring peace in Sir Lanka, the practices fight for power and dominance, and none of the leaders would want to lose the battle.
The Buddhist believes that Islam should leave the land. According to some of the leaders, the religion has held practice in the nation for more than 2500years, and they would allow another religion to take over what took a long period to build and establish. However, this is not a reason for verging wars since Islam will only introduce their religion without fighting their faith. The Muslims fought to defend their religion and in retaliation of the conflict started by the Buddhists.
The Buddhists warriors had a mission of destroying and eradicating the Muslims from Sir Lanka in the name of protecting their religious practices. The groups destroyed all Islam properties, including homes, businesses, and private vehicles (Beech, 2019). This action left the Muslims hopeless and desperate due to the conspicuous loss of property. Destroying the worship places could have made some sense, but going to the extent of their property escalated the grudge to a higher level. The issue proved that Buddhists did not fight against religion but also the existence of Muslims around th...
