Describe some social problems within educational institutions
Racism is one of the most prevalent social problems in educational institutions. In these learning institutions, discrimination is evident during the admission of students in schools. Some races are discriminated against, while others are given privileges for learning materials and resources. Violence is another social problem that is evident in educational institutions. Violence in schools includes bullying and vandalism (Dowdall, 2013). Bullying is linked to negative effects like suicide, poor academic performance, and mental health problems. Lastly, change in the structure of the family also affects educational institutions. For example, the increase in single parenthood affects children, especially teenagers.

Due to discrimination, it is evident that women have been victims. As a result, women are trying everything possible to avoid being discriminated against by gender inequality. Additionally, cases of teenage crimes and drug abuse have increased because children are trying to run away from school problems like bullying. Children want to escape from violence and bullying. It is also very important to note that cyberbullying cases have increased (Gibbs & Beavis, 2020). Since technology has grown rapidly, children have become subject to cyberbullying and online traffickers in their locality. This has caused both children and parents mental and physical stress.
