Address the following in a 3- to 4-page academic essay that demonstrates your critical-thinking skills. It should be written for an audience of business owners. As an ethics expert working for a national ethics association, you have been asked to address the following:
Research another organization that is also high on corporate social responsibility. Compare and contrast their CSR approach with the CSR approach of TOMS Shoes.
What actions of organizations fall under the umbrella of “corporate social responsibility"? Give three examples of CSR activities beyond what you have learned from TOMS and the organization you discussed in this assignment.
Is it expected that successful organizations also have a CSR component in its values? Discuss by giving two additional employer examples.

Introduction
While looking at CSR initiatives, it would be a great injustice not to think about or look into the activities of Rolex. The exquisite and esteemed company that gives the world some of the best and classic watches has been a beacon of consistency when it comes to class and style. However, what is not known by most people in the world is that the company is also a beacon of consistency in CSR. According to Sustainability Vibes (2019), Rolex has topped the world’s CSR rankings for years straight from 2016 to 2019. Such recognition is simply a testament to the company’s willingness to continue making the world a better place. Like TOMS, Rolex continues to excel in its business repertoire. The company is still one of the most exquisite brands globally, and this success is attributed to its prowess in watches and its commitment to making the world a better place. These two companies share a lot, and below is an elucidation of their approaches to CSR.
Compare and Contrast
While comparing TOMS Shoes and Rolex, one thing that comes to mind is their consistency in CSR. For Rolex, its consistency is evident through its more than four decades of dedication to CSR. On the other hand, TOMS Shoes’ consistency can be seen in its strategy to keep donating as long as it makes sales. Every company seeks to drive towards a particular goal. However, few get to accomplish or find ways to meet their objectives mainly because of their lack of consistency. However, albeit having differing strategies, these two companies have remained consistent in their pursuit of a better world. As Naeini et al. (2015) indicate, TOMS Shoes continues to revamp its strategy while still discovering new ways to help others.
However, the two organizations follow different strategies and seek to achieve different goals. TOMS Shoes’ strategy is titled ‘One for One.’ With this strategy, TOMS Shoes seeks to donate a pair of shoes for every pair it sells (Naeini et al., 2015). TOMS’ strategy has kept the company committed and true to its initiative since its inception. On the other hand, Rolex concerns itself with the world and the betterment of the planet. According to Rolex.org (2021), the company continues to support initiatives to help enhance the planet’s health. For example, using the company’s Rolex Perpetual Initiative, Rolex continues to offer support to individuals and organizations using science to fight the environmental challenges being experienced in the world. The goal is to ensure a balance in the ecosystem is maintained.
Rolex is also different from TOMS Shoes because it supports art through its Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative. Through this initiative, Rolex helps ensure that emerging artists and those keen to learn are connected with mentors who help to hone their skills to greater levels.
Actions Falling under the Umbrella of CSR and Examples
There are numerous activities that fall under the umbrella of CSR and that different companies engage in. An example of these activities includes human rights responsibility. There are companies in the world that associate...
