Impaired senses and abnormalities in the nervous system characterize several illnesses. The paper will look at four different diseases and critique their websites. These diseases include Alzheimer’s disease, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and Parkinson’s disease.
Alzheimer’s Disease (AD)
AD is dementia that significantly threatens behavior, thoughts, and memory. Among all cases of dementia, AD accounts for between sixty and eighty percent (Alzheimer’s Association, 2023). The website, Alzheimer’s Association, provides credible information for people living with AD. The site defines AD, its symptoms and prevalence, and the brain changes that occur. The site is presented in an easy-to-operate interface that allows all people to access the information. It presents relevant and current data on current research, prevalence, and significant changes that occur in the brain. The information informs more research and progress, likely leading to the development and innovation of new, more reliable, and effective treatments. There is no single point of concern or weakness noted on the site. Additionally, there is no bias whatsoever. Every detail on the site is clear and easy to understand. For instance, the content is organized using simple subtopics that assist users in scrolling through and accessing every point. Therefore, Alzheimer’s Association is a credible site providing information to people living with AD.
Cerebral Palsy (CP)
CP is a neurological impairment that affects motor function and muscle coordination. It appears in early childhood (NINDS, 2023). The NINDS website provides credible and relevant information for people living with CP. It displays this information in an easy-to-read and access format, making it easy to maneuver through the site.
