Learning Goals: What do you want to accomplish for Competency 4: Participate in Curriculum Design and Evaluation of Program Outcomes?
Be sure your goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART goals).
Some goals should reflect higher cognitive learning levels in Bloom’s taxonomy.

My goal/s for this competency is/are to:
Goal 1
S: To teach learners the legal elements of patient care, for example, obtaining consent and respecting patient autonomy, and effectively designing and executing course units centered on innovative teaching and learning methods that lead to active learning and attainment of learning objectives.
M: Success will be measured by evaluating active patient engagement, and the execution of their views as learners conduct their practicals. This will also be measured by assessing learners’ active engagement and the implementation of their opinions as learners conduct their practicals.
A: I can attain this in the course of the practicum.
R: Patients have a right to choose their treatment course without the healthcare provider’s influence. Nurses are obligated to appreciate the patient’s wishes because they have a legal right to choose whether they want treatment. Evidence-based learning and practice are vital in nursing education because their learners offer the most effective care to enhance patient outcomes. Patients anticipate getting the best care centered on the best accessible evidence. Evidence-centered practice (EBP) is vital for providing high-quality patient care in various nursing specialties. EBP enables nurses to implement data-supported solutions that integrate clinical knowledge and present research into decision-making.
T: I hope to attain this by the end of week six of the practicum.
Goal 2
S: To assist learners in developing effective time management abilities.
M: The success will be measured by evaluating the time taken by learners to efficiently care for a patient and observing enhancements on the same.
A: I can attain this during the practicum.
R: Time management permits one to efficiently manage their roles by coordinating and prioritizing the patient’s needs, care, and educational functions. Also, it helps in reducing burnout and raises productivity among nurses.
T: I anticipate attaining this by the end of week six.
