Include studies, reports, personal experience, or anecdotal stories related to your proposal. “People of color now make up 34 percent of the U.S. population, but they account for 52 percent of the uninsured-twenty-three million of the forty-five million uninsured people in 2003” (Lillie-Blanton & Hoffman, 2005); “As the population becomes more diverse, with people of color projected to account for over half of the population in 2045, it is increasingly important to address health disparities” (Artiga, 2016). According to studies, Black women perceived the pregancy stage less optimistically as compared to Hispanic and White women. This is said to be the cause of less social and financial support (eg health care insurance) for them as compared to other races (Hagstrom & Wu, 2016)
