Compare and contrast the 4 Cultures we have specifically focused on in regards to Court Dances: Japanese Classical Theater, the Court dances of the African Ashanti people, Javanese Court Dances, and Western Europe's Court dances. Dance was vital to European courts in the past, and one of the most renowned theatrical dance styles was born as a result. Other courts, on the other hand, have used dancing in significant ways, such as symbols of cultural and national identity. The Asante people of Ghana, West Africa; the Javanese people of Java, Indonesia; and the Japanese people of Japan also had court dances.
Ghana's Asante is a West African tribe. For the Asante, dance is a focal point of politics and power. Moreover, there is a connection between dancing and drumming. Celebrations, paying honor, expressing respect, and displaying authority all require them.
In Japan, the Bugaku dances are common, and they are a blend from China, Korea, and India. The dances involve simple geometric patterns, and sometimes masks are used to represent fictional persons.
