How Lymph Forms and Returns to the Bloodstream.
Lymph is formed when intestinal fluids collect in the lymph capillaries found throughout the body. It is then transported through the lymph vessels to the lymph nodes, which clean and filter it. Further, the lymph nodes remove harmful substances in the fluid before entering the bloodstream( Saladin,2020). Additionally, lymphatic vessels start as small vessels which join together to form bigger vessels that empty their fluid in the lymphatic and thoracic ducts. The right lymphatic duct collects lymph from the neck, right side of the head, right arm, and right thorax and empties its composition in the right subclavian vein. In contrast, the thoracic duct collects from the other parts of the body and empties into the left subclavian veins ( Saladin,2020).
