I need to do a 7 minutes musical Podcast. But I don't know what to talk in this podcast, could you please write a lines for the Podcast.
The Podcast's topic is to discuss the K-pop music. and focus on these two groups, BlackPink and BTS. they are all k-pop singers. And I want to introduce the K-pop, when is it start, how is it become popular, and What achievements do BTS and BlackPink get.

Podcast: Guidelines




 




I hope this will be a fun assignment! As you know from the syllabus, the podcast is worth 6 percent of your final grade.




 




Here are some particulars:




 




1. Length: seven minutes. You will be cut you off if you exceed the time limit. Plan to rehearse your talk many times to make sure the timing is exact.




 




2. Content:  You may present on any aspect of music not covered in the textbook or in class. Some possibilities might be:




 





  • a composer, genre, or work not covered in class

  • classical music in rap

  • classical music in commercials

  • classical music in a video game

  • the influence of jazz on a given classical composer

  • your favorite song, artist, or genre, classical or not

  • the Dies Irae in movies




 




You may wish to explore music in relation to your major. Examples include:




 





  • the figure of the composer in Thomas Mann’s Doktor Faustus (Comparative Literature)

  • Beethoven’s favorite dish (Food Sciences, Clinical Nutrition)

  • a Broadway musical as it relates to U.S. history (American Studies) 




 




The possibilities are abundant—just use your imagination! Your TA and I are happy to discuss ideas with you. You need not confine your topic to classical music.




 




IMPORTANT. Whatever type of music you choose, you must address at least two elements of music relevant to your selection: pitch, melody, key (major or minor), rhythm, meter, form, texture, and the like.




 




IMPORTANT. Play your selection for no longer than one minute. This leaves you six minutes to speak.




 




3. Production. Experiment with fade-ins, fade-outs, or voice-overs. You might pretend you’re a regular podcast host and that your award-winning podcast has a name. Perhaps you’ll interview a famous artist (with you doing both voices, of course).




 




IMPORTANT. You are strongly encouraged to ask your TA if your topic is appropriate.




 




4. Delivery: Your presentation should be polished. You will want to write out your text as most people cannot calculate the beginning, middle, and end of a seven-minute presentation without advance planning.




 




Practice reading your presentation with the proper pauses and inflections—the same way musicians practice their pieces. In the end, if you don’t need your text, that’s fine as neither the TAs nor I will have any way of know if you are reading or not. Strive to sound like a well-prepared speaker who needs notes only as the occasional reminder.




 




Technology: Make an mp3 file and submit your podcast on Canvas. For fades, you can use Audacity or the program of your choice.




 




5. Sources. You will undoubtedly need to consult outside sources to complete this assignment. Please submit to your TA a list of four or five outside sources. You may use whichever bibliographic format you like (MLA, APA, Chicago). Given the library closure it will be more important than ever to vet your sources. Simply because something appears on the Internet does not make it reliable. Consider the following:




 





  • Who has written and/or posted this source?

  • What is the website and is it reliable? Does it have a common domain suffix? You might wish to consult the following guide: https://www.usg.edu/galileo/skills/unit07/internet07_08.phtml

  • Could I find this source in Shields Library?

  • Have I looked in the database JSTOR (library webpage) for scholarly articles, which are vetted by specialists?




 




Rubric: You’ll be graded on content (50%), creativity (25%), and polish (25%).




 




Due date: Thursday, 4 June by 8:00 p.m. (Pacific Standard Time).

K-pop music is an international phenomenon with an intriguing background. K-pop is an acronym for “Korean Popular Music” that was initiated in South Korea. Also, K-pop is a musical category that includes differentiation of other genres, such as R&B, rock, and hip-hop music. Although the modern form of K-pop music arose in the 1990s, its advent can be traced the decades before. The contemporary K-pop is as a result of the ancient traditional blending that occurred in the 1950s.
South Korea embraced the Western culture brought in by the European and American artists and enthusiasts during the Koran War. In the following decades, South Korea emulated successful musicians such as Marylyn Monroe and others who embraced the pop culture in America. The pop culture consisted of creating girl groups, a concept borrowed from The Ronettes and Andrew Sisters by the South Koreans. As a result, the K-pop has a vast history, and since its inception in the 1950s, it has inspired many people in the music industry across the globe.
The pop culture in South Korea has grown significantly to become a primary driver of international culture. K-pop has developed into a global phenomenon because of its distinct mixture of addictive melodies, production values, and slick choreography. Also, the K-pop includes outstanding performers who spend many years learning to dance and sing in coordinated perfection. In the past decade, K-pop has become more noticeable to audiences across the globe. The Korean artists have been able to hit the “Billboard Hot 100 chart” more than nine times, therefore being ahead of the Wonder Girls and Hally. In 2018, South Korea held the “Winter Olympics” in Pyeongchang when the geopolitical tensions had heightened. As a result, K-pop took a sociopolitical significance, when the country was displaying its distinctive well-known culture.
The beat and bassline make a perfect K-pop melody. The powerful bassline and steady beat facilitate the making of the up-tempo dance songs such as K-pop songs, although the artists have a softer sound and image. However, excellent beat and bassline are not enough, and therefore, the K-pop music also incorporates singing melodies, humming, and whistling, which are excellent deal catchier. As such, harmony and songs are essential in contemporary music. Some K-pop artists such as N.Flying, FTISLAND, CNBLUE, and Royal Pirates have embraced the rock format, whereby drummers and bassists provide the rhythm of the song.
