Part 1: Audience Analysis (DUE MODULE 5) - 1 page Word Document
Based on the scenario you chose for your persuasive speech for this class, analyze your audience. Describe your audience and determine how you might tailor your content to appeal to your specific audience. Full sentences are not required in your Audience Analysis.
Re-read Chapter 11 from your online textbook and the Six Minutes blog posts by Andrew Dlugan to help you understand more fully what is required in your analysis.
Complete the provided template based on your analysis.
Audience Demographics: complete both columns at least half of the criteria.
Audience Attitudes: complete both columns for the one criterion.
Audience Expectations: complete both columns at least half of the criteria.
Part 2: Persuasive Speech Outline (Using Monroe’s Motivated Sequence) - The outline is due in Module 5. The speech itself is due Module 7 ( 1 slide -ppt)
Create a complete preparation outline using the template provided, using the five steps of Monroe’s Motivated Sequence (Attention, Need, Satisfaction, Visualization and Action) in order in your outline.
Re-read the information in the Module 6 Lecture Notes to help you understand more fully what Monroe’s Motivated Sequence is and how to use it. (Be sure to watch both videos, too.)
Use full sentences throughout your outline.
Your Supporting Materials should have a full sentence each, plus an APA-formatted in-text citation for each. (See Purdue’s Online Writing Lab article In-Text Citations: The Basics for assistance.)
If you use phrases or sentences word-for-word from one of your sources, you must put quotation marks around the words and also provide an in-text citation. (Not doing do is a form of plagiarism, which will cause you to earn zero points on the assignment.)

The audience consists of college graduates who are finishing their tertiary education and joining the workforce.

I would focus on relevant topic issues and use humor to build rapport.


Generational group (choose from: Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Generation X, and/or Millennials?)

The generation group of college graduates is Generation Z.

I would focus on being relatable such as by using anecdotes to show the audience that I trust them and view them as equals.


Proportion of males and females

The target audience is equally gendered.

I would focus on using gender-neutral to avoid offending anyone.


Relational arrangements (choose from: married, single, divorced, and/or domestic partnership?)

A few college graduates are married or in some form of domestic partnerships while others are single or divorced.

I would focus on topic issues that apply to all types of relational arrangements to avoid some people feeling left out.


Cultural groups and in what proportion

The target audience is culturally diverse although the significant cultural groups are African American and Latino.

I would focus on a few topic issues that reflect the challenges some cultural groups face in gaining employment to ensure they feel heard and represented.


Socioeconomic composition

The target audience is composed of individuals from all socioeconomic classes although a significant number come from lower-class backgrounds.

I would focus on a few topic issues that reflect the challenges college graduates from lower-class backgrounds face in achieving social mobility after college.


Occupations

The college graduates are yet to officially join the workforce although a few may be working odd jobs to sustain themselves or have part-time jobs and businesses.

I would focus on topic issues that apply to every occupation, including those who are yet to gain employment. The topic of hard work applies to all occupations regardless of current occupation status.


Religious groups

The college graduates are of different faiths. A few may identify as atheists.

I would focus on secular topic issues that apply to everyone irrespective of their creed.
