Good morning class, my name is ………., I am second year student pursuing a degree in Arts. Today, I am excited to share with you the experience that shaped my journey transitioning to adulthood. It was on September 12, 2014, a large crowd of people were slowly gathering in Canada's National gallery for the provincial draw competition awards ceremony. Shortly after, people took their seats in the auditorium, and the long-awaited event commenced at 2 pm by reciting the national anthem. The chief coordinator welcomed all the guests to the event and introduced Artist Jean-Paul Riopelle as the chief guest. Afterwards, there was a runway presentation of dances, shows from the public, followed by speeches from different guests to commemorate the day. After this, the chief guest was ushered on to the stage to announce the winners.
Firstly, was my name and veered my way to stage to receive my Prize he shook my hand and handed me the Prize. Suddenly there was a loud cheer as the cloud stood up to usher in the guest speaker. I had won the prized of the most skilled Visual Artist in the provincial drawing competition. At the time, I was the youngest person to participate and win the award ever, but I felt like the oldest person in the room. Since childhood, I always knew I wanted to tell stories through paintings and images. I have always envisioned commissioning paintings and receiving lots of awards, recognition and tokens of awards from famous and influential people in society. It was like a dream come true. Since middle school, my teachers' and parents ensured that I started drawing classes to master all the drawing skills necessary to excel in the Visual Arts field.
