To the members of the board, teachers, parents and the students present, good afternoon. I would like to welcome each and every one of you to this important meeting where we set pace to the development in the school and more important at the individual level. It is a great honor to be your speaker today.
History is our good friend and one that reminds us with fondness, the struggles that we as a people of this great nation have endured. In the months that came before and after the Tiananmen Square Protest of 1989, there were dark moments, where thousands of lives were lost, families destroyed and the economy of this nation suffered a great deal (HISTORY.com, 2017).
Today we are reminded to take initiative and safe guard our lives by engaging in constructive endeavors that will mostly bring development at the personal level and most importantly to the nation. However, the bottom line is that, we should always engage in activities that are peaceful. Growth is a crucial phenomenon that we must embrace now and in the future (Araújo, 2013).
