The primary objective of this speech is to persuade.  You are to persuade the audience to take action(s) OR to persuade the audience to NOT take action(s).

Guidelines:

  • is relevant to your audience,
  • can be brought down to an action that we can adopt,
  • can be developed into a persuasive argument in 6-8 minutes.

  • A comprehensive working outline with APA formatted reference page
  • An APA format bibliography of at least 4 sources, all of which you will cite in your speech.  These sources must be current and credible!!!

One can be surprised at how much people do not take their power to control their destiny seriously considering the approach that they accord partaking in presidential elections. Very few can imagine living in a world in which their voices do not matter and decisions about them are made without any of their input. While the scenario may seem far-fetched, it is closer to every citizen than most can imagine. In most presidential elections, it is unlikely to see every registered voter participating. While circumstances exist in which one can be forced to discern elections, some people do not just feel the importance of such processes. Voting in the presidential elections is a duty that extends beyond civic rights as it empowers individuals to shape the direction of their futures and that of the upcoming generations.
It is appalling to hear about the number of people who do not vote simply because they do not know how much harm they cause with such decisions. The people that citizens vote for in every electoral cycle play an important role in representing the needs of those people at the policymaking level (Bush et al., 2020).
