After being employed as the new CEO, the first step is to check the organization's goal and whether the current employers have the skills to attain the following objectives. As a new CEO, I look forward to employing a new sales manager. After looking at the business performance since the appointment of the previous CEO, it is evident that it has experienced an overall reduction in profit. Even though various factors can cause this scenario, one of the leading factors is that the previous leadership was employing some senior-level employees without considering whether they have a background in this field.
For instance, the current sales manager had done a technology course and had no general background in business and sales. Since this employee is determined and has a high work ethic, I will shift him to the technology department. On the other hand, I will employ a new employee with a business background and skills in the vacant position. One of the reasons for introducing the new employee is because the employee will present new perspectives and creative ideas (Team, 2022). For example, since I will employ an employee working in another institution, the employee will come with new perspectives regarding running the business.
The other reason for opting to employ a new sales manager is that it will help to have additional skills. For example, the new employee will have additional skills that the current employee has been lacking (Whiting, 2021). Since the employee has an in-depth understanding of the field, it will be easier to incorporate new changes.
After deciding to hire an employee, it is critical to have in mind the qualifications that the employee will have. This process will save me from my predecessor's mistake of hiring an employee in the department that does not meet his qualifications.
