In my research, I have come across several credible sources that have been published on gender-based hiring discriminatory practices in China. After reading the sources and understanding the economic, cultural, and social issues that drive that trend, I developed an outline highlighting the key points I encountered in my research. I will be using the sources to bolster my points in the essay. In each instance the sources are quoted, they have been be cited appropriately to avoid plagiarism and contextualized to support my arguments.

In 2019, 19% of all Chinese government national civil service ads specified a preference for men. In a country committed to equality, such things show the deep-seated issues of gender discrimination in the country. Hiring discriminatory practices against women in China is largely caused by socio-cultural issues and emboldened by poor enforcement of existing laws by the government.
There is a systemic preference for men in some jobs owing to the perception that men are considered more capable for the jobs than women. in traditional Chinese society, women are perceived to be physical, psychologically, and intellectually inferior to men and that their primary roles are childcare and they cannot be fully committed to their jobs. Eventually, the job market continues to discriminate against women and stifle their career plans. These factors manifest themselves in hiring where men are preferred even when the job advertisements have not explicitly specified which gender is to apply.
