Personal Statement for MSE in Bioengineering at Pennsylvania University
I am interested in pursuing a master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) in Bioengineering at Pennsylvania University since I want to gain more knowledge and skills in bioengineering and its applications in real life. During my undergraduate, I was fortunate to have worked alongside Professor Galen Stucky at California University, Santa Barbara (UCSB), which was the first time I showed interest in bioengineering. The Bioengineering master’s program at Pennsylvania University will foster my engineering career and help me be a qualified professional in medical and biological sciences. I understand that Pennsylvania University is one of the best institution of higher education globally and has the appropriate resources required to pursue and gain relevant knowledge in the field of bioengineering.
I have done several things that make me an outstanding candidate in the Bioengineering master’s program at the University of Pennsylvania. First, the electrochemistry course enlightened me and broadened my knowledge in engineering. Second, my research in electrochemically triggered drug delivery using dendritic fibrous nano-silica (DFNS) micromachines. Third, I am a goal-oriented, critical thinker, and problem-solver, and I want to ensure that I gain more understanding of medical and biological sciences so that I can offer appropriate solutions to problems that might arise in the field of bioengineering.
The Bioengineering program will significantly benefit me. In particular, I will learn how to perform research in bioengineering laboratories.
