Civil society is affected by both a corporation that commits a crime and a person who commits a crime that harms a business. When crimes are engaged, the innocent pay the highest price. For the sake of discussion, a corporation that commits a crime poses a greater risk to society than a person who commits a crime that harms a business.
Corporate crimes, for example, environmental pollution, misleading advertisements, predator crimes, manufacturing of dangerous products, and black marketing, have a wider and long-term effect on society than any other crime (Asha, 2012). Today, almost all countries are concerned and trying to deal with corporate accountability as a wide range of groups are campaigning on related issues like labor problems, environmental problems, unhealthy products including many others. Apart from the individuals within the companies, the society in general is affected by the corporate crimes in different ways.
Corporate crimes are mainly affecting the country's capital market and losing depositors' belief in the banks. Fraud and offenses related to capital by corporations affect their own reputation and create havoc in society.
