Assignment Objectives:
To learn how to access, interpret, and prepare climate data for a city/station
Section 1 - Assignment Instructions:
Visit climatecharts.net
The homepage should look like this:
 • Locate your hometown (this is the town in which you were born). You can zoom on this map using the +/- feature that is highlighted.
If you cannot locate your hometown, find the location that is closest to your hometown. “Closest” does not have to be the location that is geographically the shortest distance from your hometown. The location you deem closest to home should simply be “close” to your hometown as I’ve shown below:

The station that you select will turn blue when selected (I’ve highlighted in yellow for you). As well, the name of the climate station and other additional information will automatically populate on your screen. I’ve shown a screen capture of only some of the information you’ll see after selecting the station:

Once you’ve selected your location, you should see this under the name of the station. Copy this chart and paste it as a screenshot in your answer document:

To see the data presented in the chart, you will need to click on the “chart button” in the upper left corner of the chart (highlighted for you). Please note that the data are presented in degrees Celsius (temperature) and mm (precipitation). Take a screenshot of this chart and put it in your answer document (see the template).
Using your text and/or any other reputable source, define what a “climograph” is; include what information can be found in a climograph, and how the data are depicted. Be as specific as possible.
Then, copy the temperature and precipitation data into the correct column in the table. Using any online converter, change all data from metric units to imperial/standard units as noted in the table;
Then, take a screenshot and copy the following charts into your answer document:
Lastly, complete the questions that are found in the template.

Climograph:
A climograph represents a time-based graph used to present the average temperature and precipitation of a particular location. The values represented are averages showing the temperature and precipitation levels over a set period (Gabler, Petersen, Trapasso, & Sack, 2008). The climograph can then assist in describing other physical characteristics of the location such as vegetation and wildlife through their proper interpretation.

How is this information useful?
The information provided in a climograph is important for professionals in the field to be able to paint a picture on the expectations involving rainfall and heat levels in a particular area or region (Gabler, Peterse...
