Brad is an air traffic controller who has had significant problems with high blood pressure. He has changed his diet and takes medication, but the problem persists. His wife thinks he should find other employment because his job is very stressful and contributes to his high blood pressure. She believes that if he continues at the job, he could have a heart attack. Brad is an avid runner and healthy otherwise. Brad has no training for any other job. Based on this scenario, you are Brad’s boss.

Eligible workers are expected to receive compensation from their employers in cases where while on duty the employee is hurt or ill as a result of an unfriendly work environment. Compensation benefits are entitled to anybody hurt or ill at the workplace (Delpo, 2011). Delpo asserts that to equate this law, the injured employee loses his rights of filing a lawsuit for the damages against the employer except in some situations that are way apart from the compensation system. Notably, most laws vary according to states, but the responsibility of an employer providing compensation coverage is dependent on the type of work the employee does, and the number of employees. In the scenario of Brad, the government is entirely immune to liabilities (like negligence). Feffer (2019) asserts that the statutes of the employee’s compensation provide employers with immunity to liability over the statutory compensation framework. However, employers can still be held liable if several workers prove the employer guilty of intentional harm. Consequently, most states expect employers to have coverage for one worker, yet other countries set plans for at least two to five employees.
