In the case of Levi Strauss, the roles of employees were reversed after the introduction of the team system. Before that, employees used to work individually, performing a single task, and got paid about performance. The change brought about role ambiguity and conflict at different levels of task performance. Evidence of role ambiguity is seen when the employees found themselves in a mix, not sure how they were going to go about things. The policy was clear: employees should ow work in groups and would be paid concerning the productivity of the teams.
