The world has turned a blind eye to its past and mistakes on many occasions. During the Rwandan genocide, the world turned a blind eye to what was happening in the small East African Country. More than 800,000 people lost their lives in Rwanda. However, still, these stories are not talked about enough to stir action or depict a remorseful world.
The Holocaust is another of the world’s mistakes and dark past that everyone wants to avoid and ignore. Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List tries to give people an idea of what happened during the Holocaust. However, even with such an educational film, the director still received a lot of hatred and criticism. To many people, Spielberg had no right to gift the world such a film. On the other hand, Spielberg explained that the film was not in any way meant for glory or accolades. He said that the film was meant for educational purposes, and indeed it was.
