In recent research the link between immunizations and autism has been explored. Some health professionals even endorse non-immunization for children; however, the majority continue to support pediatric immunization guidelines.
For this discussion, review the information provided on this topic in the Resources. In addition, search the Internet for articles in the lay literature. Also, reflect on your own knowledge and experience as a nurse. Consider the implications of not providing immunizations for all children. Then, answer the following questions:

The responsibility of children immunization solely lies on their parents. Immunization is a very vital procedure that determines the future health of a child. However, some parents have some absurd reasons of not immunizing their kids not knowing that they are putting the future of their beloved children at risk. Vaccination is the only remedy to the world’s deadliest epidemics like Polio, Measles, Haemophilus, influenza, type B meningitis, Pertusis, Rubella and many more. Without immunization, diseases of vaccine-preventable epidemics would return. The doctrine of anti-vaccination and vaccine safety has re-emerged in the 21st century through rumors and advice spreading like bush fire in the web through blogs, message boards, websites and conversations between parents. Recent statistics by the CDC (center for disease control) indicate that anti-immunization has resulted in an alarming rise in preventable illnesses. In 2011, the CDC recorded hundreds of measles cases in the U.S alone; the highest figure in 15 years. (Maurice & Davey, 2010).
