If the girl is not subjected to early treatment, there will be deterioration of the condition and there are very high chances of death is medical intervention is not offered in good time. The dilemma comes in when the step mother insists on not subjecting the girl to medical treatment following her faith and beliefs. This mother has beliefs orienting on the lack of usage of medicinal intervention during such times. She insists that the girl should not be subjected to the medical treatment which the doctor has prescribed to save the life of the girl. The dilemma is compounded by the fact that the non biological mother is the one with the primary custody of the girl. This means that she is the one with upper hand in the decisions concerning the girl. The father says that the girl should receive medical treatment. But the fact that he is not the one with primary custody of the girl makes his say not to overweigh the decision of the mother
