Moore, Wilkie, and Desrochers (2016) examine the role of the family in socializing a child toward or away from obesity. The authors also extend the framework of family consumer socialization by focusing on the key elements and processes. The article also identifies the biological predispositions, elements of child development, parent/family inputs, intergenerational transfer, and parent-child interactions as major contributors to weight status and life course potentials (Moore, Wilkie & Desrochers, 2016). The advantage of the article is that it has utilized many secondary sources to support the arguments that are being made in the paper; this increases the validity of the information about child obesity. However, the article is not organized as an academic paper since it lacks the thesis, methodology, analysis discussion segments.
