The Hermes and Hermès script reveals the existence and characteristics of Japanese literature. The reading outlines the context as the description of the othernesses in modern Japanese literature (Hutchinson & Williams, 2006). Although the literature might have been distinct in the past, the interaction in modernity has influenced it significantly. The impact has resulted in the development of various innovative aspects, termed as the ‘othernesses,’ that have eventually changed the primary development and existence of the literature. According to Hutchinson & Williams (2006), the structure of the Japanese literature could be approached better in the form of four concentric circles. What are the circles, or what do they represent? The approach starts by identifying and explaining the history of the literature with the ‘others’ (Hutchinson & Williams, 2006). For instance, how the exterior aspects came into the original characteristics of the literature. Next, the method describes the impact of the aspects of the literature (Hutchinson & Williams, 2006). Third, the method looks at the intellectual agenda of the presentations concerning Japanese literature (Hutchinson & Williams, 2006). Finally, the approach would analyze the Mishima Yukio case and its relationship with the West and European literature, about the changes occurring on the modern Japanese literature (Hutchinson & Williams, 2006). The dimensions reveal a process through the change of the Japanese literature in a four concentric circle interaction.
Modernity has influenced many communities and their cultures, and Japanese literature could not be an exception.
