These monuments include statues to leaders during the Civil War, and also statues of Columbus. Now these debates are raging in New York City. So let's discuss and debate the Columbus, and whether there should be a monument to him. The mayor and governor are defending the monument. Please consider the article by Felipe Fernandez-Armesto on Columbus as well as the news report from CNN.
