The majority of people believe that everyone should have an equal chance to engage fully and contribute to society. Notwithstanding this, the persistence of social and economic disparities between racial and ethnic groups demonstrates that our community is still striving for this goal. Latinos, for example, are more likely than other racial groups to leave learning institutions due to discrimination. There remains a significant financial gap amongst black and white individuals. Native People in the United States are more likely to be detained in correctional facilities than any other minority racial community (Feagin, 2020). Nevertheless, like with other minorities, many Asian Americans have limited access to medical facilities and treatments than whites.
Racism and color discrimination, as well as differences in socioeconomic status, access to opportunities, and organizational rules and procedures, all contribute to racial disparities. Despite many legal and social developments in the United States that have improved prospects for minority racial and ethnic groups, such racial inequity persists. Racial inequalities in performance may be caused by differences in socioeconomic status, unequal access to opportunities, and other factors. The role of racial prejudice is one aspect that should be examined. Throughout most of United States history, overt prejudice against African Americans and other ethnic minorities has been prevalent; the question now is whether and what sorts of discrimination still persist and their consequences on unequal results.
