The two plays are drawn from different backgrounds; a rich and poor background. In ‘trifles’ it all starts a day after the husband of Mrs. Wright has been murdered. The author compares these women with bird; in that a bird can be trapped in a cage. This metaphor generally refers to how women can be trapped in their gender roles of taking care of their children and husbands. Mrs. Wright could not be hold by this, she had to do something. It is proved by what is said in the play; she lashes out against the cage and against her gender roles. This was achieved murdering the husband. Most of the insights are given by the conversation between the two most important ladies in the play, Mrs. Hales and Mrs. Peters. They wonder if truly their friend, Mrs. Wright, killed her husband. However, whether true or not their main role now is to ensure help is provided for their own; a woman. The go against their gender roles by hiding the evidence from their husbands. In ‘A Doll’s House’ the real issue happens before the curtains are down. The reader or the audience comes to realize a woman, Nora, has been paying their debts against her husbands will for more than ten years. Above all, she forged her father’s signature that enabled them access a loan to pay the debts. She values her relationship much that she keeps off the secrets from her husband for the sake of peace at home. This characteristic is also portrayed by our main character Mrs. Linde, whose husband Mr. Krogstad ‘handover’ his responsibilities as a man to her wife, Kristine Linda.
