He/she has been eating into their savings and is very stressed out over their situation. Try to empathize with them. For the purpose of this essay, assume you yourself have been laid off at some time during your working career. Offer words of encouragement to ease their pain, as well as inspire them to keep working hard in their effort to find a new job.
