Values and Relationship with Technology
Write an essay in which you explore your values and relationship to technology at this present moment, and using your coined term (techno-optimist or any other term you’ve chosen to coin yourself), explore how you see humanity's relationship to technology as a whole.
To get started, go back through the writing prompts and figure out your relationship with technology.
Your must do the following:
Name your position and define the term you are using.
Provide the reader with examples that help them (i) understand your definition and (ii) why you are assigning it to yourself using the assigned readings and your experience and observations.
In addition, provide context. How do your views compare to the results of the Smithsonian/Pew Research Poll (https://www(dot)pewresearch(dot)org/internet/2014/04/21/views-of-science-and-the-future/)? Introduce specific examples from your experience to support your ideas.
Answer the “So what? Question--what does your analysis reveal? What is at stake? Why should we (the readers) care?
Your thesis should be a focused claim about the impact of technology on ours lives. But the frame of the argument is how you see this topic. You grew up with these technologies, so show how it directly relates to your life, experience, and your future to then make connections about how this relates to humanity.

Conservatives would argue that science is constantly fighting against God’s creations. Sincerely speaking, that is not the case. Science complements God's creation. Almost every aspect of life has been positively impacted by the emergence of new technologies. Because of technology, people miles away from each other can communicate either via video call or voice call unlike in the olden days. In essence, without technology almost everything at the moment would come to a standstill, asserting the fact that technology has played an important role in shaping our way of life and will probably continue to do so as more aggressive innovations and inventions continue to emerge. Without any contradiction, I am definitely for the opinion that technology has changed our lives and would do us even better in the near future. In other words, I am a techno-optimist.
From a communication perspective, advancement in technology has given birth to new gadgets such as smartphones, computers, tablets, and even smartwatches. Media companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and a few others have had a major influence on the way we communicate. In my own experience, a day without smartphone leave alone without internet access is as good as working naked, feels very awkward. On top of that, if not checking tweets from around the world, I am either on Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp checking on friends’ updates whenever I have my smartphone. Most of the tools that we would require separately like books are readily available on the internet. With search engines like google, bing, yahoo, among others, you can literarily search for anything on the internet.
Tech giants like Microsoft and Apple have come up with personal virtual assistance, Cortana and Siri respectively that have the capability to process natural languages.
