One of the elements of the wedding customs across the globe is the white gown. Of all of the wedding plans in most of the modern and even traditional ceremonies, the wedding gown takes a lot of precedence. For most women looking forward to getting married, it is the wedding gown that mostly comes to mind and at subtle level in a white color. Most marriages today, however, do not follow the religious traditions as more people try out different themes to suit their liking. As such some may not use the white gowns in their wedding relative to popular culture. Before the historian ages, most of the wedding would use any color, except black and white as they were mourning colors.
However, the white gown still plays a subtle role in the wedding ceremonies across the globe and especially among Christians. The white color in religious circle is taken to mean that the bride is pure in her heart. As such the white color is a symbol of purity, perfection and righteousness. For women that are not virgins, it is generally accepted that they use other shades such as beige, to signify that they have been tainted and are acknowledging the fact that they are not pure.
