NOTES: "THIS class investigates different forms of popular culture (including but not limited to film, television, music, internet,and zines) as places where ideas about gender, race, sexuality, age, ability, citizenship, and other axes of identification are represented, negotiated, consolidted, and challenged... we will use feminist theories and methods to analyze popular culture and also trace feminist ideas that circulate as popular culture: in other words, we will take a dialogical approach that addresses how feminism and popular culture shape and inform each other".
