With the end goal, being a customer satisfaction supply chain never seem to work on its own that is why organizational structures should also conform. Much inspiration can come from the way Amazon handles there organizational and supply chain structures swiftly and effectively. The company is innovative and continues to use technology and brilliant innovations to bypass there competitors. The evolving nature of the company continues to give it competitive advantages and high performance in the market, achieving objectives like excellent financial results and a huge share in the market. The essay seeks to analyze the various supply chain and organizational structures depicted by Amazon and used to pursue visions and strategies and ultimately meet their goals and objectives.
The key to any organizational structure is to reach the highest and optimum performance. Amazon has emphasized the performance of the management because they know how valuable the customer is in achieving its outcomes. The managers are at the forefront in their operational activities, ensuring top-notch services. Organizations are slowly moving away from the traditional ways of measuring performance through finances, and now they measure human resources. Their organizational structure has a manager for each group that carries out major business functions. The person holds the overall responsibility and accountability and keeps the group functional. If the growth in the company is anything to go by it, the organizational structures put in place are sustainable and are working to develop the company globally and improve its performance. Organizational performance is the achievement of set targets in a particular period, which brings about efficiency and effectiveness (Gibson et al., 2010. The company also has a corporate structure that ensures that it can deliver goods anytime and in any part of the world. Because of its high rated managerial capabilities, it takes time for competitors to figure out their motives, and it is always too late (Lashinsky, 2012). What is interesting about the structure is that it allows for direct reporting to seniors. It ensures accountability from all the personnel and drives them to achieve their goals.
An organizational structure is not complete without a positive culture that connects all the employees of the company. Amazon boasts of a culture that allows employees to come up with ideas and takes risks that push it to the limit while keeping it innovative enough. An organizational culture gives employees a common goal, vision, and, most importantly, makes them a team. Amazon encourages teamwork and rewards their efforts largely because they want them to be more innovative.
