Research Paper Instructions:

* Plan of Study: For links to reading materials, please go to: courselinks.cc
* Workshop Preparations: There are three components to formal workshop preparations (1) Summaries of what a text is teaching regarding ethical life; (2) Contemporary cases requiring ethical deliberation; and (3) Applications of summaries to cases. More information about each component will be found under the calendar of study below.
*Write a paragraph of 200 words that presents one direct quotation from a “primary source text” in the Week 1 links on Ancient Egypt telling the reader why you selected the text and how you think it would be helpful to guiding ethical action in your own life going forward. The paper should be formatted in MLA style with appropriate headers and title. The direct quote should be followed by a required citation in parentheses. And your paragraph should be followed by a Work Cited section (please do not make it a work cited page, since that would be an enormous waste of paper). For reminders on what is expected regarding quotes from a “primary source text” and how to properly cite your work, please see courselinks.cc under Lesson 00 – On Scholarship and Style. This exercise is intended to familiarize students with expectations of style and format.
Is it in MLA style? Does it quote from a primary source text? Is there a direct quote, a citation, a work cited? Is the exercise at least 200 words?
*reminder no citation page needed; all citation in paragraph. At least one source and one direct quotation is required and the citation would be after the quotation. After the quotation would the summery of what the quotation means.

Take council with the learned as with the unlearned, for the limit of a craft is not fixed and there is no craftsman whose worth is perfect." ((Maulana.))Modesty was highly regarded as to promote order in the society. The ancient Egyptians were keen on morality. This was evidenced by the strong condemnation of immoral practices like adultery. Early marriages were preferred as a way of stopping adultery. The definition of right and wrong were dependent on the teachings passed on from the ancestors. Their teachings were ‘ethical’ and not religious-based. ...
